Spring is Coming at Last
Many people will have recently seen reports in the press and heard the depressing news about the cold and storm damage in National Trust gardens in Devon and Cornwall. Perhaps the idea is to encourage visitors to view the damage in person.
Thankfully at Caerhays Castle Gardens, which opened for the 2009 season on 16th February, there has been no snow or cold damage to speak of and we expect the first ontime – rather than early- spring flowering season for several years.
The camellias are already putting on a fine display and we expect the magnolias to be at their very best in mid to late March.
Yes we did have frost and snow at Caerhays but clearly it was not as severe as elsewhere.
